Renewing Your AAA Membership Frequently Asked Questions

Renewing your AAA membership takes just a few minutes. This page covers your renewal and payment options, setting up or canceling automatic billing, updating the card on file, and renewing a gift or someone else's membership.

How can I renew my membership?

You can renew your membership online by clicking Sign In or via AAA.com/Renew. You may also contact our Member Services at 800.222.1134 to renew your membership over the phone. Both options will give you instant access to your membership benefits. If you wish to pay your renewal dues using two (2) different credit cards, you will need to contact our Member Service at the number above.

How do I sign up for and/or cancel Auto Renewal/Convenience Billing for my membership?

To sign up for auto renewal/convenience billing of your membership account, please click on Sign In and then click on My Account OR click on My Account, if already logged in from the top right corner of any page. You will be asked to login to access this feature. To sign up Auto Renewal, please select "View Billing Information" under I'd Like To: next to the membership card. You will then need to click on Automatically Bill My Credit Card button. You will then need to enter your credit card information. Please also make sure the address that appears on the screen is your credit card billing address. If not, please make any necessary corrections and click Continue to finish the process. To cancel the Auto Renewal where you will receive a paper invoice at your renewal period, please select "View Billing Information" under I'd Like To: next to the membership card. You will then need to click on Cancel Automatic Billing button. To go directly My Account to, click here. You will be asked to log in to access this feature. If you do not see either Automatically Bill My Credit Card or the Cancel Automatic Billing buttons under Current Billing Options, you are in the renewal period and will NOT be able to sign up or cancel automatic Renewal at this time. NOTE: We do not acquire any credit card number when you join and/or renew your membership, unless you sign up for the Auto Renewal.

To change your credit card information for Auto Renewal/Convenience Billing, please click on Sign In and then click on My Account OR click on My Account, if already logged in from the top right corner of any page and then select View Billing Information under I'd Like To: next to the membership card. At this time, you will be able to see the last four digits of the credit card number and type of card on file. You can then click the Update Credit Card button under Current Billing Options section to enter a new credit card. You will need to enter your new credit card information. Please also make sure the address that appears on the screen is your credit card billing address. If not, please make any necessary corrections and click Continue to finish the process. If automatic renewal is currently billed to an AAA credit card or you have a foreign billing address, please contact our Member Services at 800.222.1134 to make any changes. To go directly to Payment Options, click here. You will be asked to log in to access this feature.

Gift memberships are not renewable online. Please contact AAA Member Services at 800.222.1134 to renew the gift membership by phone or visit an AAA office near you.

Last year I made installment payments on my renewal; however, it doesn’t appear to be an option this year. Has the installment payment plan or monthly payment plan been discontinued?

AAA has discontinued the Monthly Payment Plan and all other payment plans for membership accounts. If you have any questions, please contact our Member Services at 800.222.1134.

What credit cards do you accept as payment for purchasing or renewing an AAA membership?

We accept the major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. You may also pay through your checking account.

How can I renew someone else’s AAA membership?

If you wish to renew someone else’s AAA membership, you will need to contact our Member Services at 800.222.1134 or go to your local AAA office to renew their membership. You will need their 16-digit membership number and/or their name and address when you contact our Member Services or go to your local AAA office

Can I change my AAA membership’s automatic renewal deduction date online?

No, the payment date for automatic/convenience billing is not changeable. You can change the credit card information as well as to turn on/off the Convenience Billing option.

My membership card doesn’t expire for a few years but I’ve received a renewal bill. Why?

The AAA Membership Card is generally issued for a three-year period. Please note the Dues Billed Annually comment printed on your membership card just above your name. If dues have not been paid each year, your membership card is not active. To renew your membership, visit AAA.com/Renew or call the Member Service Center at 800.222.1134.
