No, the TripTik Travel Planner maps are not downloadable to a PDA.

Yes, you can email a route you created using the TripTik Travel Planner, as well as post on Facebook and Twitter. When the route has been created, click on the Share icon, the middle one, , which is located above the ads on the left. A dialog box opens with the link for the route you just created with icons for Email, Facebook and Twitter. For email, click on the envelope icon and fill in the To Email Address and your name and click on Send Emails. For Facebook and Twitter, click on the specific icon and then you will need to log in to your account for Facebook and/or Twitter and then follow the instructions. There are two options to view campground information: the AAA Campground Search and the AAA Triptik Travel Planner on your computer or mobile device. For the AAA Campground Search, select Triptiks & Maps from the drop down menu under Travel. Once on the Road Trip Planning page, click on Search for Campgrounds under AAA Campground Search. Enter the city, state of your destination. You can also choose a Campground Type or part of a campground name. Remember: you may get less results if you put anything in the Campground Name Contains or Campground Type. Once you click on Search Campgrounds, you will then see a list of campgrounds for your destination. When you click on the name of the campground, you will see all the pertinent information about the campgrounds. You can create a triptik route with a mix of hotels and campgrounds. You can access the AAA TripTik Travel Planner by clicking on Triptiks & Maps from the drop down menu under Travel. Once on the Road Trip Planning page, click on Launch Triptik Travel Planner. When you have your triptik done, you can click on the tent icon (Campgrounds) at the top of the triptik panel, which will show a tent icon on the map for campgrounds. When you want to add one of the campgrounds to your route, click on the bubble for that campground and then click on Add to Trip. You will then see it on your route on the left panel. You may need to move the campground item up or down in the route list to be in the proper order, which can be done by clicking on the 3 vertical dots next to the campground item and move it up or down in the list. To access the mobile version of the TripTik Travel Planner, go to https://www.aaa.com/ttp on your mobile device. Enter your from and where you are heading and click on the tent icon to show Campgrounds and then click on Get Directions Once your route shows up, go in for a closer look to see if there are any Campgrounds on your route. Tapping on the green camping symbol on the map will open the business card with campground name, street address, whether it is a Private or Public park, whether it is pet friendly and how many sites.

Clicking on Details on the campground card will open the common details page with full listing information, which includes:

Full address, phone number

Type – Private or public

Sites – Total # of sites, tent details, RV-only details, max RV length, accepts big rigs, pull thrus, hookup details, amps

Rates – Call for Rates

Terms – Open dates, age restrictions, reservations/prose, pet friendly status Services – Tables, water, laundry, store, propane, firewood, internet, cable TV, toilets, showers, dump

Location – Address of RV park

To get back to the Campground card after reviewing the details, click on Return to Map. If you want to add this park to your trip, click on Add to Trip from the campground card and then choose either 1) Route to Here, 2) Add to Itinerary or 3) Voice Navigation. If you want to show attractions, restaurants, gas stations, etc., you can click on Discover at the bottom and then tap on whichever item you need. To order maps, click on Triptiks & Maps from the drop down menu under Travel. On the Road Trip Planning page, click on Order Maps under Order for Home Delivery. You will be asked to login to access this feature. On the Order Travel Publications page, you will choose the maps you need and then fill in the mailing information on the next page. Please allow 8-10 business days for processing of your maps request. You can no longer receive tourbooks to your home nor can you get them from your local branch, as they have gone digital. You can access the AAA Digital Tourbook® Guides by clicking on Triptiks & Maps from the drop down menu under Travel and then click on the blue button named AAA Digital Tour Books from the Road Trip Planning page. You can also access the AAA Digital TourBook Guides from the AAA Mobile® app by clicking on More at the top navigation. You would click on Travel and the scroll up until you get to the View Digital Tour Book Guides. To go directly to Ordering Maps, click here. You will be asked to log in to access this feature. You can order a TripTik by selecting Triptiks & Maps from the drop down menu under Travel. Once on the Road Trip Planning page, click on Order TripTik Routings under Order for Home Delivery. You will be asked to login to access this feature.

You will then fill in the requested information on the following sections:

If there are places in between you wish to stop at, enter the towns you plan to visit as stopovers by clicking on the blue + button on the screen after your start/end locations have been entered. Always enter your actual trip date to ensure you receive an accurate route.

If you need a triptik before the required 8-10 days for processing, you can use the TripTik Travel Planner and create your route by clicking on Triptiks & Maps from the drop down under Travel. After you have created your route, you need to save the route, if you wish to go back to it at another time. You can save your TripTik Travel Planner route by clicking on the heart above the AAA Digital TourBooks ad. A dialog box will open to name your route, then click on Save. You must be logged in to save your route. To retrieve an already saved route with the AAA TripTik Travel Planner, go to https://www.aaa.com/ttp. Click on the Trips icon on the right side of the Directions panel. Any of your saved routes will be saved here. You should see the name of your route in the list. When you click on the name of your route, you can make any adjustments you need to before clicking on Start Trip. You will need to be logged in to retrieve a route. TripTik Travel Planner displays information for Construction (road construction) and Advisories (expected delays) when you click on the Menu button in the top left corner of the TripTik Travel Planner. You will then need to click on the white box next to Construction and Traffic under Map Layers and then click on the X in the dark blue area to return to your route. The road construction is indicated by a solid yellow line, as shown below. The dialog box with construction information appears when you click on the solid yellow line. In the print version, road construction has a red triangle before the construction information and a yellow diamond next to the traffic advisory information. This information shows in each segment of the Overview Directions, if needed. In the Overview Directions, you will know what map the construction/advisory relates to as it gives the page no. of the map. Note: It’s best to route your map within 30 days of your travel date for the most accurate construction info. Yes. After you have entered your information and AAA has then plotted their route, you will need to go closer into the route on the map as to where you want to deviate from AAA’s route. Move your mouse over the blue line of the route. You will notice that your cursor changes from a pointer to a pointing finger and you will see a white dot underneath the finger. Once you see the finger with the white dot underneath, you need to click your mouse and hold it down and then drag the line to approximately where you want the route to change. Once you do this, you will see the blue line will change to where you actually are moving it to. Once you are where you want it, let go of the mouse. A dialog box will show with the additional information for your route as it has been modified. You can keep this change by clicking on Keep or click Undo, if you don’t like it. If you keep, you will see the new information in your overview route and if you undo, it will put the route as AAA had it originally and you can start over. You can do this as many times as you want along the route. Whatever change you make and Keep, will be shown in your Overview Directions. For an example: Enter Tampa, FL to Shreveport, LA and click on Go. Click on the plus sign to bring the map to more detail. Click on the blue line between Pensacola, FL and Mobile, AL. Once you see the finger with the white dot underneath, drag the line up to Grove Hill, AL, which is straight up from Mobile, AL. Once you drag the blue line up to Grove Hill, AL, you will see the blue line move so that you do NOT go to Pensacola, FL or Mobile, AL.

Visit AAA.com/TTP, then enter your start point and end point to create a TripTik map. You’ll find the total mileage above the ads.

Triptik maps also provide the ability to:

Print directions — Prints both written directs and map overview. Reverse directions — Reverses starting and destination addresses entered and creates written directions and map overview. Send email — Emails written directions to the email address the user enters. The user also can choose to include a map as an attachment. When this option is selected, an image of the overview map is included within the e-mail.

Visit AAA.com/TTP. You can enter Starting and Ending destinations plus any additional stops to get Driving Directions. If you wish just to look up a specific location, enter your location next to the magnifying glass and hit enter. You can also view the Travel Guides as well as go through the Road Trips, which are short, quick trips, by clicking on Menu in the top left corner of the AAA TripTik Travel Planner.

To generate a complete TripTik map, click the Print button at the top-right of your map.

Since the cities are stored in a database, searches are based on finding an exact match for the city name. Some cities may have been entered into the database with "Saint" or "St", "Mount" or "Mt" or "Fort" or "Ft". Therefore, if you enter a city and it starts with St, Mt, or Ft and it doesn't come up, please try the full name; for example, Saint Marys, AK, instead of St Marys, AK. If you are unsure of the spelling of a city, simply start entering the first few letters (e.g. "Bil"). You can then select the appropriate city from the list that appears. The order form will respond with a list of available cities that match the city name you entered.

No, the feature has not been eliminated. If you have created your route and you do not see the hotel and attractions when in the magnified view, you may not have those features enabled.

Once your route is on the screen, you will see a row of icons () at the top of the panel on the left side of the map, for the following categories:

Hotels

Restaurants

Attractions

Fuel

Camping

AAA Savings

Auto Repair

Car Rental

AAA Offices

Once you click on the first and third (Hotels and Attractions), you should see the choices when in magnified view. Remember that the closer you magnify, the fewer hotels and attractions you will see. To go directly to the TripTik Travel Planner, click here.

If you wish to order a triptik online to be delivered to your home, yes, you will need to be an AAA member. However, as a non-AAA member, you can create a triptik and print it using the AAA Triptik Travel Planner. To create a triptik using the AAA TripTik Travel Planner, please click here.

To retrieve an already saved route with the AAA TripTik Travel Planner, go to https://www.aaa.com/ttp. Click on the Trips icon on the right side of the Directions panel. Any of your saved routes will be saved here. You should see the name of your route in the list. When you click on the name of your route, you can make any adjustments you need to before clicking on Start Trip. If you do not see your saved trip, it may be that you did not save it correctly. When you have created your route with any optional stops and clicked on Start Trips, click on the heart that is above the digital tourbook ad. A Save a Trip dialog box opens. Enter the name of your route in the blank space and click on OK. It will state “Your route itinerary has been saved”. And click OK.

If you wish to see gas stations along your route in TripTik Travel Planner, you can do so by clicking on the Gas Pump icon at the top left of the TripTik Travel Planner. Gas stations will show as a gas pump on your map. Once you have chosen your start/end destinations and click Start Trip, you should then click on the gas pump icon. Once you do, you should see all the gas pumps on the map where there is a gas station. Your route will show as a blue line. Since you have the gas icon chosen, you will see the gas pump icon on the map along with a list of gas stations on the left. You will need to zoom in on a specific location along your route to see a list of the gas stations along your route on the left side of your map. You can zoom in by clicking on the plus sign (+) at the bottom right of the map. When you hover over one of the gas icons, you will see the name of the gas station and what the regular price of gas is at that station.

If you click on the bubble, you will get more options:

Add to Trip – clicking Add to Trip will add this gas station to your route on the left. Save – clicking Save will save it to your Saved Places for a later time

Details – clicking More Info will supply you with the following:

Station name

Address

Phone #

The different grades of gasoline with pricing, if available

Date of last update, if available

When you click on Save, as mentioned above, it will be saved to your Saved Places. You can access these Saved Places by clicking on the red heart on the right side of the panel of the AAA TripTik Travel Planner. Once you click the red heart, a list will appear on the left side of the screen. This list will have any hotel, restaurant, campground, gas station, route, etc., that you have clicked on to save. If you want to get back to your directions, click on this icon, which is above the red heart. The Saved Places list will be switched out for the Directions.

AAA Mobile App

You can also see gas stations while using the AAA Mobile App by opening the app and then clicking on the Near Me icon. The gas stations will show as gas pumps. At the bottom right, you can click on Show List to see the list of gas stations or Hide List to hide the list. In the list view, you will get the same information as you would in the AAA TripTik Travel Planner. If you are not seeing gas stations, please click on the 3 lines next to Change Location, which will give you filters. Put a checkmark next to fuel and you should see the gas stations on the map.

You can order TripTik route and maps for free home delivery by selecting TripTiks & Maps from the drop down menu under Travel. Once on the Road Trip Planning page, please select Order TripTiks Routings under Order for Home Delivery. Once on the Order TripTik & Travel Publications page, you will go through the process of entering your route information as well as the maps you will need.
