Colorado Springs Hotel – 2 Nights

Spend the day sightseeing in the Colorado Springs area. Travel to neighboring Manitou Springs to board the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, ascending to the mountain summit at 14,115 ft elevation. As you are awestruck at the beauty that surrounds you, you will understand why this mountain inspired the writing of America the Beautiful. After descending the mountain, you will enjoy the spectacular Garden of the Gods, a registered National Natural Landmark, featuring towering red sandstone rock formations. (B)

Today, board the Royal Gorge Route Railroad for a stunning train ride following the legendary Arkansas River deep within the gorge. You will gaze up at the famed Royal Gorge Bridge.  After, travel to Alamosa, an historic railroad hub.  (B)

Alamosa Hotel – 1 Night

This morning, “all aboard” the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad in our Deluxe rail car, it's considered the finest remaining examples of a once vast network of narrow-gauge lines linking together Rocky Mountain mining camps.  Disembark in Osier and enjoy an included lunch.  Then continue by motor coach to the old west mining town of Durango. (B, L)

Durango Hotel – 2 Nights

Today, travel to nearby Mesa Verde National Park for a day of exploration. With an expert guide, you will visit cliff dwellings where the mysterious Anasazi once lived. Known as the “Ancient Ones” to the Navajo, the Anasazi lived in the Four Corners region almost a thousand years ago, then suddenly disappeared, leaving their well-preserved dwellings to intrigue modern man. This is the nation’s largest archeological preserve including 600 cliff dwellings. This evening, enjoy a fun-filled dining experience at the Bar D Chuckwagon Supper and Western Stage Show. (B, D)

This morning, ride the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, past rugged peaks, alpine meadows, and crystal lakes that will take you back to the early days of the West. Upon arrival in Silverton, enjoy free time to explore quaint shops and have lunch on your own. Board the motorcoach for a scenic drive north to Grand Junction. Evening dinner is on your own. (B) Grand Junction Hotel - 1 Night

Gaze upon the fantastic monoliths of Colorado National Monument.  Over the centuries, wind and water have carved sheer, walled canyons, spires and gorges from the brilliant orange and red sandstone.  Travel east through the heart of the Rockies enjoying  lunch in the charming alpine town of Vail Village.  Cross the Continental Divide at Loveland Pass before descending into the “Mile High City”.  Tonight join your fellow travelers for a Farewell Dinner. (B, D)

Denver Airport Hotel - 1 Night

Say farewell to Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. Take the hotel shuttle to Denver International Airport for your journey home. (B)
