AAA has sponsored the AAA School Safety Patrol® program for more than 100 years. Since its inception in the early 1920s, the AAA School Safety Patrol program has provided a safer pedestrian environment and wide spectrum of educational opportunities for millions of schoolchildren.
The program and its more than 440 Lifesaving Award recipients have contributed to the steady decline of student pedestrian (ages 5–14) U.S. deaths—a 24% decrease since 2010.
Today, with over 679,000 patrollers participating, this program serves to instill these young leaders with responsibility and leadership as they protect classmates going to and from school each day.
AAA values the dedication of these young individuals. To express our gratitude, we are providing complimentary AAA School Safety Patrol Memberships to current patrollers whose parents or guardians are members. Furthermore, we offer resources to educators and extend our support to schools by delivering safety programs for all age groups.

*Free membership is only for current AAA School Safety Patrollers who are dependents of active AAA Primary Members residing in The Auto Club Group territory. Membership expires on renewal date of Primary Member.
Upon activation and with proper identification, AAA will provide regular AAA services and full privileges for the new member. Roadside benefits begin three days after payment of dues. Some restrictions apply. Roadside Assistance is provided by independent facilities contracted by AAA. Coverage in taxis, limousines and other ride-sharing conveyances is excluded. AAA Mobile Battery Service is part of Roadside Assistance for AAA members, generally provided by independent service providers, and is only available in select areas during select hours. Batteries and battery warranties are provided by independent suppliers. The battery test and replacement service counts as one of the member’s allowable service calls per membership year. Batteries are available for most makes and models. Battery prices vary depending on vehicle make and model. Warranty valid in the United States and Canada.
