Plan to arrive at the Albuquerque Sunport Airport prior to 4:00 PM. Make your own transfer arrangements to the Sandia Resort & Casino, a AAA Four-Diamond Resort offering a luxurious spa, casino and golf. Stroll the beautiful grounds and visit the 107-acre Buffalo Preserve. Located across from Balloon Fiesta Field, an early morning stroll lends itself to seeing beautiful balloons in flight across the horizon. Tonight, enjoy a group Welcome Dinner and learn about all the exciting details of what’s to come. (D)
Sandia Resort & Casino, Albuquerque, NM – 4 nights
Travel by deluxe coach to the Turquoise Museum, exploring its rich history, mining and beautiful specimens. Next visit the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center – 1,000 years of Southwest American history, followed by a city tour of Albuquerque exploring the old and new, differentiated cultures. The tour ends in Old Town with free time to have lunch, explore galleries, shops, and museums. Tonight, participate in the Special Shape Glowdeo, one of the most popular events of the Fiesta. The balloons glow for two hours after sunset followed by a spectacular fireworks show. Enjoy exclusive access to the Chasers Club with direct access to Fiesta Field, comfortable seating, food and beverages. (B, D)
Travel by coach along the scenic “High Road to Taos” to visit the Taos Pueblo, a village that has been inhabited for more than 800 years and whose adobe structures have changed little since the first Spanish explorers discovered them in 1540. Enjoy free time and lunch in Santa Fe followed by a tour including Loretto Chapel, a miniature model of the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris, with its famed staircase. This evening is at your leisure. (B)
Depart for Fiesta Field bright and early. Again, enjoy the amenities of the Chasers Club for coffee and breakfast. At dawn, when the winds are calmest, walk onto the field where the balloons are inflating to take an up-close look and even talk to the pilots about the process. One by one, they rise in a coordinated launch until hundreds of balloons fill the sky – make sure your camera is ready! (weather permitting) Enjoy a free afternoon and join the group this evening for an incredible Farewell Dinner at a renowned local restaurant. (B, D)
