DAILY ITINERARY:

Upon arrival at London Heathrow Airport enjoy a private transfer to your hotel. Later, join your Tour Manager for a Welcome Reception to meet your fellow travelers and review the itinerary.

The Tower Hotel by Thistle or similar – 3 nights

Take a scenic city drive of London and tour Buckingham Palace, home of the Royal Family.  Ascend to the top floor of The Shard, high above the city for spectacular views and celebrate with a champagne toast.  This evening gather for a Welcome Dinner at a traditional English Pub.  (B, D)

 

Visit the Royal Air Force Museum in Hendon.  Explore the many galleries including the award-winning First World War in the Air gallery, Historic Hangars and Bomber Command Hall. 

Later explore Winston Churchill's underground cabinet rooms brimming with history, mystery and character.  Enjoy a private dinner in the historic underground Harmsworth Room complete with its original 1940 electric generator.  The room holds the atmosphere of a wartime bunker making it the perfect space for a very memorable dinner!  (B, D) 

Travel to Portsmouth and visit Southwick House, General Eisenhower's stately mansion and planning center for Operation Overlord and its historic wooden map wall.  Discover the epic story that happened within these walls.  The evening is yours to enjoy as you wish.  (B)

Holiday Inn Portsmouth or similar - 1 night

 

Travel in the footsteps of soldiers as you cross the English Channel by ferry from Portsmouth into Le Havre, France.  Travel to Caen and enjoy an orientation tour of the historical city center.  Dinner is included at your hotel.  (B, D)

Novotel Caen Cote de Nacre or similar - 2 nights

 

Visit the Airborne Museum in Sainte-Mere-Eglise, one of the first towns liberated after D-Day.  See the church spire that American paratrooper John Steele got caught on before the Germans took him prisoner.  Follow the route of the Rangers, visit the bunkers and the Rangers Memorial at Pointe du Hoc as well as Omaha Beach.  Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.  (B, D)

 

There are poignant reminders of World War II as you travel past Juno and Gold beaches, which both played a part in the 1944 Normandy landings.

With a local specialist, spend reflective moments at the American Military Cemetery of Saint-Laurent with a wreath laying before visiting the D-Day Museum to see remnants of the artificial port in the Bay of Arromanches. 

Continue to Paris with an orientation city tour., followed by a group dinner.   (B, D)

Crowne Plaza Hotel Paris Republique or similar - 2 nights

Today is open to explore on your own.  Visit the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, whatever you wish!  Tonight, join the group for an unforgettable Farewell Dinner Cruise on the Seine River.  (B, D)

After breakfast, enjoy a group transfer to Charles de Gaulle Airport (Time is TBA).  (B)
